Metallophone Fun!

With my middle school and high school students I have trouble finding activities that are age appropriate, apply to their objectives AND are appropriate for their functioning levels... Can I get an AMEN?

I have used the metallophone for a while now to work on focus, following directions, decision making, etc.. The students seem to really enjoy it, so I thought I would post a picture of how I notate melodies for the different levels of functioning. These melodies can also be used for boomwhackers as well, I color my notes the same colors as the boomwhacker scale. Hope you enjoy!

Ms. R's tips for connecting to your kids-

#1

FInd what interests your students and use that to your advantage!

#2

Give breaks! No point in everyone suffering when your student can reboot and become productive again after a break.

#3

Get on their level! If the student learns better when walking around the room, then WALK! Don't make a child conform to a standard that inhibits their learning.
